How do we count visits?
What is a visit?
A visit is a user session (similar to Google Analytics) that expires within 30 minutes. A session is a group of user interactions, like a page view or purchase. Bots are in large majority excluded, except bots that simulate browser traffic and therefore use server resources.
How do we track visits?
Each request gets randomly generated RequestID, which is then sent as a cookie with expire time of one hour. We then collect those RequestIDs to determine the visitor count.
How does this affect visitor stats if I use GraphQl or Rest API?
If your frontend is directly calling API, then nothing changes. If you are calling API via backend, then one visit is counted for each hour of use for that API.
Visits are not used for billing
Visits are not used for billing purposes, they are only there for your information.
