Set up transactional emails on your own SMTP provider
For emails to work correctly, you need to have a transactional email provider (also called SMTP provider) set up. We recommend you take advantage of our Transactional Emails addon where we configure SendGrid and verification records for you.
However, if you would like to use your own provider, follow the instructions below.
Configuring an SMTP provider on your store
The two providers we recommend are:
- Mailgun, free for 10,000 emails per month (official WordPress plugin)
- SendGrid, free for 100 emails per day (official WordPress plugin)
To set up a provider on your store, install the official plugin and follow the instructions.
Configure DKIM and SPF records
Don't forget to add DKIM and SPF records to DNS, Settings > Domain > View DNS. If you do not know what those are, we highly recommend you stick with WooCart's Shared and Personalized Transactional Emails. Otherwise, your email deliverability will suffer.
